About Saskia
I believe my life experiences, combined with my extensive training in counseling psychology, have deepened my wisdom and compassion as a therapist.
Inspired by my own transformative healing journey and life experiences, I became a therapist at mid-life. I returned to school and earned a masters degree in Holistic Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University. While training to become a licensed therapist, I provided counseling services to children, teens, adults and couples at schools and clinics working for community agencies. I led numerous parenting skills groups, as well as cooperative parenting classes for separated and divorced parents.
I was born in Belgium and came to the US when I was four and a half years old. I experienced the richness and challenge of learning a new language and integrating into a different culture. Moving here gave me an appreciation for different ways of life and alternative perspectives.
Prior to becoming a therapist I developed programs that promote bicycling and healthy communities, which continue today.
In my free time, I love hiking and exploring nature. I practice yoga and meditation, grow veggies and enjoy poetry. My favorite dessert is ice cream.
